A small number of our clients have been affected by an MS Office 365 update causing an “@” symbol to be added in front of all TM1 / Planning Analytics DBRW formulas in MS Excel worksheets.
This issue has been reported in TM1 Perspectives however IBM have also advised that it can occur in Planning Analytics for Excel (PAX) too.
The issue is caused by new functionality in MS Excel which was introduced in MS Office Versions 1910 or later. More information on why it occurs can be found here.
Resolving the Issue
Fortunately, this issue is relatively easy to resolve.
A user who is experiencing the issue (and therefore on a later version of MS Excel) simply needs use the find and replace dialog in MS Excel to remove the “@” symbol from the workbook and then re-save it.
An example of what to enter in the find and replace pop-up is shown below.
It is important to note:
- If the workbook is subsequently changed and saved using an older version (pre 1910 version) the issue will re-surface and the fix will need to be carried out again.
- The issue does not affect websheets
A fix pack for Planning Analytics 2.0.9 is expected in March 2020 to resolve this issue.
